Prayer Ministry
In Isaiah 56:7, God declares, "My house will be called the house of prayer for all
the peoples." Here at Highland our desire is to fulfill this command. Baptist Church
Our Prayer Ministry exists to engage our church in the need for prayer, to equip our
church in the disciplines of prayer, to enlist prayer warriors in specific ministries of
prayer, and to encourage those in our church who daily labor in prayer. Prayer is
not an option for an individual or church that desires to carry out the Great
Commission of our Lord. Meaningful and lasting results in the church come only
about by prayer.
Our prayer ministry is primarily made up of five different ministries:

THE INTERCESSORY PRAYER ROOM MINISTRY
Our 24-Hour Intercessory Prayer Room is located inside the entrance to
the church office. This ministry is operated by trained volunteers who give one
hour per week praying in the Intercessory Prayer Room, or alternately, participants
can access information by computer.

Volunteers are now needed. Interested persons must complete an application
or enroll as a new user online at our website.
To participate in the 24-Hour Prayer Ministry, a person must:
* Be at least 18 years of age.
* Be a member of Highland Baptist Church for at least six (6) months
* Agree to participate in orientation and training opportunities
* Agree to adhere to accountability and confidentiality guidelines.
After becoming accepted into the 24-Hour Intercessory Prayer Ministry,
each intercessor chooses or is asked to take a specific hour to pray each
week.

WEDNESDAY HOUSE OF PRAYER
On Wednesdays, in each of our services (11:15 AM or 6:30 PM), we take time to
seek God in prayer. Printed prayer requests are distributed and prayer letters to
our sick are available for signing.
